Leopards at Little Canada.
Excitedly, Leopard class took one last look at the school before wheeling/carrying their cases or bags along King William Street to the coach which was waiting on Eastcott Road. Once the boot was packed and seat belts on, the children began their journey, waving enthusiastically to Mrs Porter, Ms Collins, Maria, Milo and Mrs Clarke.
The ferry crossing was perfect-they even had time to sit and eat their packed lunch in the warm sunshine.
At 2pmish they arrived at Little Canada and played games whilst they waited to be shown their dormitories in the old house.
After unpacking and settling in, it was time for tea followed by the evening activity: campfire.
Although there was a little shower it was not enough to dampen their spirits. All were tucked up in bed about 9:30pm.
Tuesday kicked off with breakfast at 7am and then the children were split into 3 groups before heading off to their different activities which included Matrix, Survivor, Giant Swing and/or All Aboard.
After lunch, activities continued with Challenge Course and Jacob's Ladder.
The evening activity, called Robot Wars, involves working as a team to earn cardboard to build a robot with. Then the Robot Wars begin!
Wednesday morning began with either problem solving or orienteering. After a break all groups came together for dragon boating. The children were split into two teams with Mrs Plested team captain for one boat and Mrs Watts team captain for the other boat. After a quick practice of paddling technique, the race began....with Mrs Watts team crossing the finish line first!
After lunch the groups split up once again with the activities being Zip Wire, Giant Swing and canoeing. As has come to be expected everyone who canoed ended up very, very wet!
This evening is quiz night-will Mrs Plested get her own back!
Thursday provided the opportunity for everyone to get wet-the groups that hadn't canoed yesterday did so today. The sea was very, very cold.
Other activities on offer were Buggy Build and All Aboard and of course the highlight of the night....the disco.
