Nativity 2017

Blue Whale shared with us the story of the very first Christmas which happened more than two thousand years ago in a town called Nazareth, where a lady called Mary lived with her husband Joseph.

One day Angel Gabriel visited Mary to tell her some special news.

'Do not worry Mary. You are going to have a very special baby.'

Mary and Joseph travelled to Bethlehem on a donkey.

Soon after, Mary and Joseph had to travel to Bethlehem. It was a long hard journey and Mary rode on a donkey and Joseph walked beside.

When they reached Bethlehem they were both very tried so they tried to find somewhere to sleep. Unfortunately all the inns were full and there was no room for them. Every door they knocked on the innkeeper said 'Sorry there is no room in my inn.'

One inn keeper saw how tired Mary was and offered his warm and dry stable to sleep in.

'Sorry, no room but you can have my stable.'

Mary and Joseph made themselves comfortable in the stable.

It seemed that every creature wanted to see what was happening.

That night Mary's baby was born. They wrapped Jesus in warm clothes and laid him in a manger.

On a hillside near Bethlehem some shepherds were watching over their sheep through the night. Suddenly there was a bright light and angels came to them and told them that Jesus had been born. The shepherds were vary happy and made their way to the stable in Bethlehem.

A bright light appeared.

Far way in the east, a bright new star appeared in the sky. Three Wise Men saw the star and they knew it was to tell them that a new baby King had been born.

Night after night they rode on their camels and followed the star until it finally stopped over the stable where Jesus had been born.

The three Wise men went into the stable and gave gifts of gold, frankincense and myrrh.

Everyone watched quietly as Jesus slept in the manger-they knew he was a very special baby.
