On Monday, we had a once in a lifetime experience. Ten chosen children walked down to Wood Street where the crowd gathered to meet Queen Camilla, who was visiting Deacons Jewellers to mark 175 years of business. We waved flags and held a posy of flowers as well as cards for Princess Kate and King Charles, ready to hand over.

When Queen Camilla arrived, the crowd cheered and she talked to us all. She complemented the flowers and get well card design. She then went inside Deacons, which was why she came. After 45 minutes, the Queen emerged from inside the shop, waved to the crowd before stepping into her car. As she drove by, she opened the window and waved goodbye to us.
